The story

There was a time when Italy looked to the sea with pride. It was the age of the great ocean liners, of voyages to the Americas and of cities opening up to the world. In those years an all-Italian legend was born: the Rex, the largest and fastest ocean liner ever built in our country. In 1933 she won the Blue Riband, the prize for the fastest Atlantic crossing. Sailing from Genoa and calling at Naples, she reached New York in under five days, leaving wonder and admiration in her wake.

But the Rex was not just about speed. She was luxury, high society and great emotions. Every port of call was a celebration, but Naples, with its Molo Angioino, held a special place in the heart of the ship and her passengers. When the Rex arrived, the city stopped to admire her: the funnels, the sirens, the crowd on the pier. It was a spectacle the Neapolitans never forgot.

Welcome to the Rex Suite, where the legend lives on.
